Everything Between was created for Riverside Park South, along the Hudson River in Manhattan. This experiential sculpture seeks to further consider the sculptural environment; from its location within a particular outdoor site to its implications within the greater public sphere. I wanted to cultivate an experience for the viewer, one that heightens senses and alters perspectives. From the outside, this sculpture is a beacon inviting visitors to Riverside Park South. Upon entering, there is a sense of shelter and the urge to look up toward the focal point: a window to the sky. The interplay of light, strong winds, clouds and other environmental factors will cause a visual shift above the viewer. In a potent moment such as this, much like experiencing the earth move beneath us, we become suddenly and acutely aware of our dependence on the forces beyond our control. This is the shared experience of humanity. Everything Between serves as a space for inspiration and contemplation.
