*Video by Sheila Berger Windtower is a collaborative sculpture designed for a year-long display in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. It was suggested by the Park officials to create a project under the theme of air. This elongated pyramid form houses a series of chimes with deep melodic sounds designed to integrate into the surrounding nature. The exterior is made from custom perforated Corten steel that allows wind to pass through the sculpture like a breath of air. Glimpses of light dance through the sculpture's interior as the aluminum chimes reflect the rays of the sun. The austere form of the pyramid is brought to life by the light and sounds emanating from within.
Windtower is now on permanent display on the
Florida Keys Sculpture Trail in Islamorada, FL. |
